Sprinting towards a horizon of possibilities, one strategic leap at a time
For this first blog, I thought I would keep it simple and share a bit more about myself, why I'm passionate about helping clients, and what makes my experience unique.
The name Luxon is a term used in theoretical physics for particles that travel at the speed of light (and, yes, my engineering friends, it is also used as a library for JavaScript programming) but in the context of why I chose the name, I like to deliver results fast so references to the former was what I had in mind.

In the Beginning
I received my first career lessons while working in logistics, third-party intermodal and over-the-road, while attending school. Keep in mind that this was in the early 90's and the internet was in its infancy so we weren't connected. That meant a lot of manual processes and many direct conversations with customers (remember a life without email?). But that is where I developed my 'customer first' mentality and it has stayed with me over the years. Now, we call it 'customer centric' or 'customer obsessed' but it all comes down to knowing, understanding and helping your customers have the best experience possible so they will continue to do business with you. Captain obvious, I know, but many companies, especially in B2B, still struggle with this basic tenet.
I transitioned into Pharma shortly after and spent many years in the industry, first at Johnson & Johnson, then Novo Nordisk and Endo; world class companies with incredible mentors and training programs. To this day, I feel incredibly fortunate to have learned from some of the best communicators and marketers in the industry.
After that came chemical coatings and technology, but we'll save that for another post as there is a lot to share.
Lifelong Learner
Working in so many different industries, along with my personal hobbies, has always been exciting to me. From clinical studies in Pharma, to chemical compounds in coatings, to software development languages and now, artificial intelligence; I find learning new things fascinating.
Being able to apply my core competencies in marketing and communications across different industries was always a great, and fun, challenge. And having this as a core personality trait is a fundamental asset in the consulting world.
Being a lifelong learner makes me open to understanding and adapting to constant market changes, evolving technologies and practices, and it will help me provide my clients with the most current, relevant advice. In addition, my diverse knowledge will help me contribute more comprehensive and innovative perspectives to help my clients.
Learning isn't just about acquiring knowledge, it's also about growing personally. I think my experience has helped me gain deeper empathy and understanding of client needs and concerns, which will lead to stronger, more productive relationships.
Onwards and Upwards
Beyond strategies and advice, I want to become a true partner to my clients. Someone they can call, even if outside our scope, when they need to ideate, or work through a challenge. Seeing clients win is what drives me.
What makes my experience unique is that I'm not just looking at your marketing or investor relations tactics and giving you templates; I want to create a synergistic marketing and investor relations strategy that resonates with your unique audience, creating ripples in the market, a narrative that echoes in the halls of potential stakeholders, amplifying your financial opportunities.
Stay tuned; I'll share more about the mechanisms of effective marketing and investor relations and explore industry trends (and the potential exists for a blog about F1 racing or scuba diving, more things I'm passionate about). Thank you for reading and, if you have topics you would like to send or, if you would like to share a guest blog, please reach out to me.
